Our new eco friendly baby gift boxes and baby hampers

Our new eco friendly baby gift boxes and baby hampers

It is becoming increasingly important for us at In The Box Baby Hampers to be mindful of care for the world, its sustainability, it's new babies, being aware of a zero waste ideology and embracing and our role in what we choose to put out to the market place. Each of us makes choices about how we treat people, what we buy, what we eat, where we go and how we get there, in short the things that are important to us. As an independent business making choices about what we sell includes choice on our part. While the journey to think about the planet will continue, we have made a start with our new eco friendly new baby gift boxes and baby hampers. These new baby gift ideas are much more about showcasing the thoughtful contents rather than the box in which the baby gift comes.

With this in mind we have been sourcing organic cotton and cotton baby clothing, organic cotton, cotton and bamboo baby blankets, cotton and organic cotton muslins, FSC wooden toys and ranges of baby soft toys made from recycled plastic bottles. We have even added a few eco friendly puppets for a cuddly, fun interaction with the new baby and we know the parents will have fun too.

Organic cotton is farmed more sympathetically and using less chemicals, which can only be a good thing for a new baby's delicate skin. Some of the baby clothing has OTEX labelling meaning that every element of the garment has been tested to avoid harm to the wearer. We like that.

We have also been mindful that not everyone wants blue baby gifts for boys and pink baby gifts for girls, while the gender gap still exists we feel it is important to also offer gifts that are more gender neutral. Our corporate clients, particularly, have been embracing neutral new baby gifts for a while when purchasing for employees and staff on maternity/paternity/adoption leave.

We chose our chocolate supplier very carefully as we wanted single source cocoa products that were fair to the producers and a range that included chocolate options that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. We found that in the products from Choc Affair and having been rigorously tested (OK, eaten) by our team of chocolate lovers they passed taste tests with flying colours. They found all the chocolate they ate to be very smooth and satisfying.

The natural baby toiletries we have chosen  for our new baby gifts come in containers that are easily recycled or reused and are not tested on animals, are suitable for vegans, are made free from any parabens and SLS, palm oil and are plastic free. We think this is going to be important for parents and those gifting to them.

We have also included our hand crocheted baby booties made from a variety of different wools and such a lovey keepsake once the new baby has grown out of them.

Our box manufacturer helped us by directing us to products containing recycled materials, it is a small step but we found it an easy one to make. We are now using  only paper tape and paper packing for all of our baby gift hampers.

We understand that not everyone choses organic cotton baby clothing or baby blankets all the time it's nice to know that you can have that option when buying a gift for a new baby. If you are interested in zero waste then these eco friendly baby hampers and eco friendly new baby gifts mean that that all the clothing and blankets can be passed on as pre loved due to their quality and lack of personalisation.

We are going to send free tree bombs with each of our eco friendly baby hampers. Our planet is estimated to require a trillion trees to be planted according to Treebombs. While each new person coming into the world needs to plant 101 trees to offset their carbon footprint. The three free Treebombs will get the idea rolling. Imagine the long term pleasure for a child of watching their trees grow. No need to plant them as they are coated in clay and will set themselves to produce elder or maple trees. Perhaps you could throw one in the garden or on one of your favourite walks? We love that idea and expect many new parents will too.
